Lecture at the OPL on: “Respiratory Tract Disorder Management”.

Mersaco, Sanofi Promotor in Lebanon, in partnership with SEHA (Sanofi Educational Healthcare Academy) Program, hosted a lecture on “Respiratory Tract Disorder Management”, on Monday, September 11th, 2023, at the OPL, presented by Dr. Naji Aoun.
Dr. Naji Aoun, Associate Professor and Associate Dean at the University of Balamand's Medical School. He serves as the Director of Infectious Diseases Service, as Head of Stewardship Program, as well as Head of Infection Control at Clemenceau Medical Center.
SEHA is a program that emphasizes the crucial role of the Pharmacist as a front liner in the Lebanese patient journey, and provide non-biased medical information about the disease, the treatment options, and drug usage, and finally raises awareness on the risks and dangers associated with suspected medicines.
The RTD lecture achieved remarkable success with more than 130 engaged pharmacists attending Dr. Aoun's presentation which shed light on the pivotal role pharmacists play in guiding patients with Respiratory Tract Infections (RTI), especially in Community-Acquired Pneumonia (CAP). Additionally, he emphasized on the significant role of pharmacists in restraining the misuse of antibiotics.
Dr. Aoun's insights on RTI management, coupled with his experience in infectious diseases, provided attendees with invaluable knowledge and perspectives to optimize patient care and antibiotic stewardship.
The collaboration between Mersaco, Sanofi – SEHA Program underscores the commitment to advancing healthcare education and fostering a culture of responsible antibiotic use. This lecture, among many other lectures across Lebanon, represents a step towards empowering pharmacists to effectively contribute to better patient outcomes.
