Diater Strengthens Allergy Education Through Nationwide Scientific and Awareness Initiatives
- July 01, 2026
Over the past few months, Diater has continued its commitment to advancing allergy awareness, supporting healthcare professionals, and improving patient care through a series of educational and scientific initiatives across Lebanon. Despite the challenges posed by the circumstances in the country, our team remained actively engaged with hospitals, physicians, pharmacists, and medical students, reinforcing our mission to promote evidence-based allergy management and continuous medical education.
One of the key initiatives was an Allergy Awareness Campaign at Mount Lebanon Hospital, organized in collaboration with Dr. Carole Youakim. The campaign featured live skin prick testing demonstrations, emphasizing the importance of accurate diagnosis as the gold standard for identifying IgE-mediated allergic diseases. This was followed by an educational session for residents and fellows focusing on allergy diagnosis and the role of allergen immunotherapy in managing allergic diseases.
Building on our commitment to continuous education, Diater also partnered with the ENT Department at the American University of Beirut Medical Center (AUBMC) in collaboration with Dr. Zeina Korban. The interactive educational session brought together residents and fellows to discuss the causes, clinical presentation, diagnosis, and management of allergic diseases, while highlighting the evolving role of allergen immunotherapy in modifying the natural course of these conditions.
Recognizing the importance of supporting healthcare professionals at every stage of their careers, Diater organized a series of educational lectures across Lebanon in collaboration with leading specialists. Medical students participated in dedicated sessions presented by Dr. Moussa Riachi and Dr. Dany Farhat, strengthening their understanding of allergic diseases and their management early in their professional journey.
Continuing Medical Education remained another important focus. Chest physicians attended a scientific lecture presented by Dr. Hasan Dhainy, exploring the recognition of allergic conditions in respiratory practice and discussing the latest evidence surrounding allergen immunotherapy.
As accessible healthcare professionals, pharmacists play a vital role in patient education and reinforcing treatment adherence. To support this role, Diater organized dedicated educational lectures in collaboration with Dr. Marilyn Karam for pharmacists across Metn and Keserwan, and with Dr. Rabih Abou Chami for pharmacists in the Bekaa. These sessions focused on increasing awareness of allergic diseases and highlighting the role of allergen immunotherapy in evidence-based patient management.
Extending our commitment to scientific excellence, Diater also participated in the European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (EAACI) Congress in Istanbul, one of the world's leading scientific meetings dedicated to allergy and clinical immunology. The congress provided valuable insights into the latest advances in allergy diagnosis, disease management, and allergen immunotherapy, with particular attention given to the growing body of evidence supporting the role of allergoids in allergen immunotherapy.
Through these initiatives, Diater continues to foster collaboration with healthcare professionals, encourage knowledge sharing, and support continuous medical education. By investing in scientific exchange and evidence-based learning, we remain dedicated to helping healthcare professionals deliver informed, high-quality care and ultimately improve outcomes for patients living with allergic diseases.
